Julien Paré-Sorel has always loved telling stories with his drawings. At a very young age, he created his first characters and almost always immersed them in fantasy and science fiction universes. After studying visual arts at CEGEP and comics at the Université du Québec en Outaouais, he began his career with several projects, including Léthéonie, the Étienne et Charlot series, which appeared in the magazine Les Débrouillards, and La ligne rouge. Between comic book festivals and conferences in the four corners of the planet and of Quebec, Julien carefully imagined the complex universe of Aventurosaure, a project that brings together two of his lifelong passions: medieval fantasy worlds and dinosaurs. The first volume of the series, Le réveil de Rex, earned him several recognitions, including the Yvette-Lapointe Award at the Bédéis Causa (for best French-language children's comic book) and the Dragon Award at the Joe Shuster Awards. Julien works from his workshop in Montreal with his faithful assistant, Abu the monkey-dog. When he's not creating comics, he enjoys cycling, playing video games, practicing aikido, and watching kaiju movies.
