MCAF

A 13th Festival on Saint-Denis Street

The Montreal Comic Arts Festival will set up its tents on Saint-Denis Street, between Gilford and Roy, from May 24 to 26, to create a 1.2 km long comics stroll punctuated with activities, exhibitions and meetings. More than 300 comic artists, 160 exhibitors and 82,000 people are expected to attend the biggest celebration of comics in Canada!

The MCAF team, in partnership with the SDC Rue Saint-Denis, presents a program of more than 60 free activities around the theme Beyond borders. Spread over three days, the program will be bilingual, free and open to the public.

Opening Hours

The Montreal Comic Arts Festival is an outdoor and free event. It takes place rain or shine. The activities and exhibitors are sheltered from the weather under tents.

First aid and meeting point

First aid attendants are present all day at the two festival stores (south of Mont-Royal Avenue and north of Roy Street).

How to Get There

By Public Transit

The festival is close to Laurier, Mont-Royal and Sherbrooke stations. If you want to get to the heart of the festival, you can get off at Mont-Royal station, but why not start your trip by getting off at Sherbrooke and walking up Saint-Denis to our activity zone?

By Bike

Although the REV will be closed for security reasons during festival hours, biking is a great way to get to MCAF. You can get there via the REV on Saint-Denis coming from the north or south or via the bike paths on Rachel or Roy. Several Bixi racks are also available nearby. The Vélo Québec website offers maps to help you plan your trip.

By Car

Since Saint-Denis and Duluth streets will be pedestrianized at the same time, car traffic may be less fluid on the Plateau-Mont-Royal. If you absolutely must drive, parking is available on the surrounding streets (watch out for the parking sticker zones) and there are some park-and-ride lots nearby.

Accessibility

Reduced mobility
Although our site is long at 1.2 km, all the activity tents are easily accessible and grouped together in an activity zone at the middle of the festival, between Marianne and Rachel. The comic book stroll allows for easy circulation on pedestrianized Saint-Denis Street. If needed, our volunteers will be happy to help people who need assistance and places can easily be arranged to facilitate access with a wheelchair. A drop-off zone for people with reduced mobility has been planned near the activity zone (Gilford street). Restrooms for the mobility impaired and rest areas have been provided in each section of the festival. If you have any questions, please contact us at info@fbdm-mcaf.ca and we will be happy to help you plan a visit that will be as enjoyable as possible.

Other
MCAF wants to be inclusive and accessible to as many people as possible, but we are limited in our resources at this time. We are committed to making efforts in the coming years to gradually improve our accessibility to a wider variety of audiences. Please write to us if you have any suggestions.
